Oscar Wilde - Irish Writer |
Oscar Wilde, Irish author, was born on 16 October 1854 in Dublin. His writings include plays, poetry, short stories, fairy tales, essays, and one novel (The Picture of Dorian Gray).
Wilde was a gifted playwright, poet, wit, and is quite famous for his humorous one-line quotations:
"Education is an admirable thing. But it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught."
"There is no sin except stupidity."
"Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future."
Wilde is also famous for being convicted as a homosexual.
