Earn Money Online - 5 simple steps |
Unlike most "make money online" articles, this one is not going to tell you that you can make money online by filling out surveys or by getting paid to surf. Those are basically just online jobs.
The methods I will be presenting are more foundational, they are about seeing the business of the web and how money changes hand and for what reasons.
Make Money Online - 5 Methods
1. Pay Per Action or Pay Per Lead
This method of making money online involves a website owner sending his visitors to a form on a merchant's site. If the visitor fills out the form (often this involves a request for information) then the publisher receives a payment.
Of note is that the publisher gets paid, even if the visitor does not make a purchase at the merchant's site. They simply need to fill the form, or complete a simple action, for the payment to be incurred.
2. Pay Per Click or PPC
This method of making money involves getting paid every time a visitor clicks on an ad on your website. Almost everyone has seen Google's AdSense which is a pay per click advertising method found on Google's search engine results pages, and on many blogs and other websites.
The advantage of PPC is the it is very easy to implement.
3. Pay Per Impression or CPM
These are ads in which the website owner or publisher is paid purely based on the number of impressions or views that the ad receives.
Since the amount paid per impression is very low, this method is primarily only used by high traffic sites.
4. Text Link Sales
Simple text links are now being purchased on websites. These ads are placed in a "sponsors" section and sold primarily on a monthly rate which is determined by the prominence of the publisher's website.
Sold mainly for search engine optimization purposes these ads have become very popular and are now considered a substantial source of revenue by a lot of webmasters.
5. Affiliate Links
Affiliate links are special links provided by a merchant, such as Amazon, that allow a publisher to receive a commission if a product they recommend is sold via a link from their website.
For a publisher affiliate links are a way to make money online by offering a huge array of products and services to their website's visitors but without the trouble of actually creating those products or having to handle payment processing and support.
A very popular method of monetizing a website, affiliate links are very simple to implement and can result in very profitable payments for the publisher.
